Accessible baths and angle handles
Accessible and senior-friendly baths are rare, but they exist. In recent years, many sanitary manufacturers have recognized the need to supplement their product portfolio with bathtubs that are largely threshold-free and easy to enter. There are now bathtubs with a shower zone, which can be used both as a bathtub and as a shower and entered through a door. As a result, the user is spared lifting and angling the legs to enter the bathtub. Bathtubs are also often used, which allow a comfortable sitting position and easier entry and exit while bathing. And if there are any problems when entering the bathtub, support shapely angle grips by providing support and security. Those who like it more discreet and can cope with smaller aids, can of course also buy grab bars.

Accessible bathtub with door for more comfort
Barrier-free showers are now standard equipment, but what about barrier-free bathtubs? Little is said about this, although bathing or showering should be an act of independence and self-evident - even in old age or with physical disabilities. Certainly, the implementation of a threshold-free entry into the bath more difficult than that in a shower, but it is possible. This is proven, among other things, by the German sanitary manufacturer Duravit. With its “Shower + Bath” combination, it has launched a barrier-free solution for comfortable showering and bathing. The Duravit Shower + Bath baths with shower zone convince with a door that is almost threshold-free and that makes annoying climbing unnecessary for entering the tub. This purpose-built bath door leads into the spacious bathtub interior, which also acts as a shower surface and promises extra freedom of movement. An additional shower enclosure keeps the splash water inside. Once the bathtub door is closed again, the shower turns into a bathtub. Here a mechanical safety lock guarantees that the door can only be reopened when the drain of the bathtub is open. No electrical connection is required for this.
Accessible baths are always an excellent choice for the wellbeing ambience in the bathroom, if the bathroom is not only designed to be modern and contemporary, but also to contribute to trouble-free use in old age or in poor health. A bath with access is not only for seniors and handicapped accessible living advantage, but also increases the comfort in the bathroom, even if there are no physical limitations.
